Why start a blog?

Our responsibilities to each other when we write a blog is to inform us or help us with certain situations that we have come across in our lives. A blog should keep us updated on the things that are happening or update us on whatever that blog is about. We do have a responsibilities when we communicate with others. We have responsibilities because in the long run we are creating a relationship between the blogger and the person reading the blog.  

Experience of Photos

My experience with this photo essay was good. In the beginning I did not mind taking pictures that pertained to my topic, but I was struggling to connect the photos with the topic I had chosen.  I picked a topic that, for me, was hard trying to find pictures that illustrated my purpose for the photo essay.  I think it would have been easier if the students could have been able to get photos from the internet.  After I started writing the photo essay in a PowerPoint, it was easy.  I had never done a photo essay before and scared it would be hard; however, I enjoyed doing this type of essay.  This essay was different and a whole lot better then writing the 8 to 10 page research paper.

Analyzing my expereince

While writing my rhetorical analysis, I enjoyed writing the essay. I picked autism because I had knew quite a few people who siblings or relatives suffer from autism.  When writing the analysis it just flowed, I knew what I wanted to write about and what I wanted to say about everything in the website.  I did have a little trouble trying to piece all of the elements together because it was so cluttered at the bottom I did not know what to write about.  I liked how we, the students, picked what we think is important on a particular website.  I also enjoyed how we just could write a little portion on why the people who made the website choose a certain color or why the website is arranged in that particular way. All in all I enjoyed this essay just as much as the photo essay.  It was essay to write, the students did not really have to do research or anything, all the students had to do was pick a topic and a website.

Annotated Bibliography experience

The annotated bibliography was not so bad. It was easy to just arrange the authors name alphabetically; however, the hard part was trying to find the information that connected with the topic I had chose. I was a little confused on how to write an annotated bibliography in APA since I do not really do papers in APA format, but after someone had explained to me how to write the bibliography in APA format it was easy.

Researching my experience

My experience with the research paper was bad. It was my own fault that I had picked such a hard topic.  It was hard trying to find different information that had to be not later then 2006.  While looking up the information it was hard to find information that did not repeat itself.  Writing 8 to 10 pages for a paper was hard and trying to connect all the information I had collected was hard because I did not know how to connect all of that information together.

Throughout this year

In the beginning of the year, I had decided to write my essays on autism, but then switched to stem cell research.  I had switched topics because I though stem cell research would be more interesting to find more information on. While doing my research on stem cell research, I had found that with the help of stem cells, researchers have discovered 86 treatments for diseases that affect us today.  I was happy with my topic until I had to write my research paper.  Writing the research paper on stem cell research was hard for me to do so I was not to happy, I regretted choosing stem cell research as my topic because I found information but all the research was the same but stated differently; however, when doing the research paper along with all the other essays, I found a lot of information that I did not already know or information I did not hear before.  I liked the photo essay and the rhetorical analysis better than the research paper.  I liked the other two essays because it was fun and I had never done essay like the rhetorical analysis and the photo essay. Nevertheless, I like the photo essay the most because it was fun and different.  I could be creative with it and make it my own rather than the research paper where it is one set format.  During the course of the year, the students had to have our essays peer reviewed by our other peers, when my other peers reviewed my essays, it had actually helped my quite a bit.  The reviews helped my see if my paper was organized and if the paper flowed the way I wanted it to.  This year of college writing 2 had helped my get a better understanding of how to write papers and different ways to present information creatively instead of a boring paper.
